This vintage Stanley No. 140 Skew Plane is a rare find for collectors and woodworking enthusiasts. Made in the USA, between 1898-1934, this vintage original piece is a must-have for anyone who appreciates the quality and craftsmanship of collectable tools. The plane has been disassembled, thoroughly inspected, cleaned, treated with a light application of Camellia Oil, and wrapped in dry brown paper ready to be shipped.
The iron, although in great condition (I suspect it's the original Stanley Rule & Level iron), there is not a lot of life left... this tells me it's been well used & loved! It has been sharpened with 10,000 grit whetstone and stropped to a mirror finish (as you can see in a few of the photos).
Dimensions:
overall length: 7”
overall width: 2"
cutting iron width: 1 5/8"
The sole is in outstanding condition and has been smoothed to a flat & polished finish - happy to provide additional photos should you wish to inspect more closely. There is some pitting on the side (I've given this some extra time & attention) but overall it's in great condition considering the age of this skew plane.
